Grants and Contracts Details
Description
General administration funds are used to support top-level management activity (primarily salaries and associated expenses) needed to plan, develop, administer, and review the highway research program that consists of multiple continuing and new projects. Each project requires oversight with periodic reviews to assure success. At times, individual projects require changes in staffing, scope, budget and schedule. Top-level management is responsible for troubleshooting and providing the necessary resources, within the available funding, to meet the research project objectives. This may require adjustments within and between research projects with the approval of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The State Planning and Research Program funds statewide planning and research activities. The funds are used to establish a cooperative, continuous, and comprehensive framework for making transportation investment decisions and to carryout transportation research activities throughout the State.
The Kentucky Transportation Center is the primary research organization for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
