Pediatric Public Health Technical Assistance C5218 (UK Reach Out and Read (ROR) FY 25-26)

ABSTRACT The purpose of this contract is: provide access to the Reach Out and Read program during well child exams with a local provider. The University of Kentucky (UK) administrates the current Kentucky Chapter of the Reach Out and Read Program. The Department for Public Health (DPH) does not have the personnel or expertise to perform these tasks. This program provides education, outreach, and supplies to pediatric practices statewide. The goal of the program is to improve child health and learning outcomes by encouraging parents to read aloud to their children beginning at birth.
