Description
The vendor will provide five (5) days of training to pel'$onnel (teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists), who work wIth low incidence students, including those wittl deafness and or blindness. Each training session would be offered for up to 30 individuals. Training :Topics Include: rationale for communication compstency, unique learning styles/needs and characrerlstics of the population with
implications for teaching, functional assessmenl, receptive communication (form and function), expressive communication (form and function), communication maps. components 01social interactions, activity-based I embedded skill instruc1iol'l, tranSitions, augmentative communication, and calendar systems. They will provide three (3) days of on-site technical assistance IiIS follow-up
to those individuals who work direcdy with stUdents on the Kentucky Deaf-Blind Censusand conduct evaluation activities.
