Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Nursery inspections are crucial in order to prevent the establishment of plant diseases. This survey will allow us to target
this fungal disease. This survey program will pinpoint potential problems so they may be quickly eradicated before they
become infestations that require the expenditure of large amounts of time and money to eradicate. The establishment of this
disease would have a large negative impact on the state’s nursery industry as well as the export of oak lumber.
We will collect survey data detailing the presence/absence of Sudden Oak Death in samples taken from nurseries which will
augment regular nursery inspections. The State Survey Coordinator will collect, process, and enter data into IPHIS and will
generate reports.
