RESULTS OR BENEFITS EXPECTED
We will collect survey data detailing the presence/absence of Phytophthora ramorum in samples taken from nurseries. The State Survey Coordinator will collect, process, and enter data into IPHIS and will generate reports.
The Cooperator seeks to conduct a program which is expected to result in:
• The safeguarding of Kentucky’s nursery industry against Phytophthora ramorum.
• The safeguarding of Kentucky’s oak lumber industry.
• Providing survey data about this disease in Kentucky and keeping the markets open for Kentucky’s nurseries and lumber industry.
• Early detection and rapid response if the disease is found in the state.
• Nursery conditions information entered into the IPHIS database.
• Positive/negative data will be retained by the Cooperator and reported in the midyear and final reports.
