PL 29, Analysis of Autonomous Vehicle Policies

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The purpose of this work is to identify instances where existing KRS, KAR, and KYTC Policy may pose impediments or challenges to the introduction of automated, as well as connected vehicles. It will identify laws, regulations, and policy requiring further review – both to ensure that existing regulations are not burdensome to innovation and to help ensure that automated vehicles perform their functions safely. Additionally, the research will provide information on actions taken by other states related to autonomous vehicle policy.
