Grants and Contracts Details
The purpose of this research is to assist in the evaluation of road performance on U60 E. Main Street. The Road diet will be evaluated based on safety and capacity of the proposed configuration. This will include AM, Noon and PM peak hour analysis. Analysis will include Synchro/Simtraffic evaluation. Safety analysis will be conducted by directly applying applicable Crash Modification Factors to existing crash data based on crash types. Discuss project with KYTC personnel and determine KYTC representatives. Define and document project description, purpose, scope and deliverables. Write work plan defining and sequencing work activities. Assign KTC researchers to project. Determine budget. Develop schedule. Conduct peak hour traffic counts at major signalized intersections within the corridor with assistance provided by KYTC. Collect supplemental traffic data to determine the impact of ongoing utility work on the corridor. Collect crash data along to corridor to support evaluation of safety impacts. Road diet will be evaluated based on safety and capacity of the proposed configuration. This will District 5 will develop proposed lane configurations for inclusion in the above analysis.
