PL 45: Conflating HIS and TMC Networks

Abstract PL45, Conflating HIS and TMC Networks The objective of the study is to conflate the TMC network, available from the NPMRDS, to HIS network. The NPMRDS data set, available to KYTC and local MPOs, are referenced to Traffic Messaging Channel (TMC) network, which is a completely different system from the linear referencing system used by KYTC for its highway inventory network. This presents a significant challenge to link the performance data to highway geometric and usage features. The team will adapt the conflation algorithm developed during SHIFT 2020 to associate HERE Streets network and HIS network to work with the TMC network. We’ll perform QA/QC procedure to ensure the accuracy of the conflated network. Deliverables: Conflated network and technical memo on the conflation and QA/QC procedure by December 31, 2022.
