Grants and Contracts Details
Description
On a biennial time frame, FHWA requires that states complete the Local Highway Finance Report, also known as form FHWA-536. This biennial report is required from each state and the combined data is used by FHWA to determine financial trends in terms of revenue, expenditures, and investment patterns. The completion of the FHWA-536 form is also critical to funding allocated to Kentucky through FHWA. In combination with Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) data, the information gathered allows FHWA to determine optimization levels for highway needs with the funding that is available.
The purpose of this project is to complete form FHWA-536 for Kentucky for Fiscal Year 2011. This will cover the period of time between July1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. In order to provide the needed data for this study, the Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) will obtain pertinent information from fiscal year 2010 county and city financial data housed in the offices of the Kentucky Department for Local Government. Additionally, KTC staff will coordinate efforts with the League of Cities, the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government, and the City of Louisville to gather needed information from the financial statements from these sources. The needed information will be gathered from these sources and analyzed to complete form FHWA-
536.
