Description
Abstract: The mission of CAPTIVATE KY is to cultivate collaboration in environmental preparedness and
resilience research by creating and sustaining an open data and communication network for more
effective coordination of R&D and education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The project addresses
specific infrastructure challenges in the jurisdiction’s science and technology research ecosystem: a
dedicated databank of hardware and software infrastructure to host, share, manage, and support
scientists and engineers working with large-scale environmental data from across the state. The project
cyberinfrastructure will include equipment, software, and hosting services to support the data storage,
computational and web servers, and archival/backup requirements.
