Description
This case-control study is designated to validate a genetic association between hypodontia plus EOC-risk (Epithelial ovarian cancer) (and/or EOC-disease) as a platform to improve biomarker set(s) for early screening susceptibility for EOC. Patients from the UK College of Dentistry (UKCD) Orthodontic Clinics and Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) Orthodontic Clinics, with and without hypodontia, will be invited to participate in this tudy. Extensive family cancer and dental histories for three generations will be collected along with subjects' salivia for DNA isolation. Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) within the three canditate genes: MSX1, RUNX2, and RUNX3, will be genotyped in the subjects' DNA.
