Grants and Contracts Details

Description

PROFIT: Promoting Recovery Online through Financial Instruction and Addiction Training PROFIT (Promoting Recovery Online through Financial Instruction and Addiction Training) is a state-level scaling up effort to address the Opioid Epidemic in Kentucky. Utilizing Cooperative Extension as a mode of program outreach and delivery, the project will focus on improving the professional capacity of community-based educators and healthcare providers. It seeks to support the utilization of distance learning strategies for education and training in minority rural communities related to the prevention and reduction of opioid/substance misuse and abuse. Once scaled statewide, PROFIT will be expanded to offer online education and training to a national audience. PROFIT will implement adaptations to two research-based programs developed by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service: Addiction 101 and Recovering Your Finances. Both programs were developed in response to unique stressors that influence the lives of the target audience with particular emphasis on reducing financial stressors associated with relapse in substance use recovery audiences.
