Quaternary and Surficial Geologic Mapping for Geotechnical and Geophysical Applications in Kentucky

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

To support new surficial geologic mapping in three regions of Kentucky, which have been identified by the Kentucky Geologic State Mapping Advisory Committee as priority areas that need surficial geologic mapping. This proposal includes three one-year projects intended to support the long-range goals identified by the SGMAC. The regions of special concerng, particularly regarding hazard assessments and geotechnical planning, include the Green River Valley (Project 1, Daviess, McLean, and Muhlenberg Counties), eastern Kentucky (Project 2, Rowan and Estill Counties), and northern Kentucky (Project 3, Campbell County).
