Description
We request funding for a lecture series that will bring to the campus of the University of Kentucky leading experts in cybersecurity. This series is as an essential step to increase the awareness at the University of Kentucky of the state-of-the-art in cybersecurity research, education, policy and practices. It will help the PIs to develop educational programs in cybersecurity at the University of Kentucky, and position the University of Kentucky to become a nationally recognized leader in this area. The effort will help address the growing urgent need for cybersecurity professionals, felt by private and government organizations alike, and especially by organizations such as NASA, where secure and resilient to malicious attacks software systems are critical to the success of its missions. Given the importance of cybersecurity today, it is imperative that the University of Kentucky, as a flagship university of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, leads in shaping our societal response to the challenge.
