Description

Title: Rapid detection and management of red crown rot, an emerging disease Univ KY PI: Carl Bradley Plan of work: Red crown rot, caused by the fungus Calonectria ilicicola, is an emerging disease in Kentucky and other states, such as Illinois and Indiana. Research to develop rapid detection of the red crown rot pathogen and to evaluate potential red crown rot management practices in the field is proposed. Dr. Carl Bradley’s laboratory at the University of Kentucky will work with the overall PI at Michigan State University to test potential pathogen detection systems and will conduct field research trials to evaluate potential disease management options.
