Scope of Work Year 1: Three spatially separated sentinel plots are planned to monitor downy mildew disease arrival on multiple cucurbit hosts, located at UK research farms. One downy mildew fungicide efficacy trial is planned for squash on the UK Agronomy Farm in established research fields. Mating type testing will also occur in Plant Science Building Rm. 125 using field?collected samples. Year 2: Three spatially separated sentinel plots are planned to monitor downy mildew disease arrival on multiple cucurbit hosts, located at UK research farms. Mating type testing will also occur in Plant Science Building Rm. 125 using field?collected samples. Cucurbit disease identification training will occur within routine Master Gardener trainings to facilitate faster communication about disease outbreaks.
