Rejuvenation of Skeletal Muscle Regeneration in Patients with Kidney Disease

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

As a co-investigator in this proposal (Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Pl: Matthew Abramowitz, MD, MS), I will oversee data collection and analysis of data from skeletal muscle single cell RNA sequencing and primary cell culture experiments conducting using tissue collected from patients with chronic kidney disease and endstage renal disease and in selected controls as outlined in the protocol. I will supervise research staff performing the experiments and will participate in regular meetings with Dr. Abramowitz and study staff, and coordinate manuscript preparation and reporting with Dr. Abramowitz. These components of the proposal enable us to define the impact of uremia on muscle regenerative processes and the importance of muscle cell crosstalk in mediating uremic muscle pathology.
