Reporting System to Improve Patient Safety in Surgery

Robert M. Mentzer, Jr., MD, co-investigator, win continue to serve as a member of the Project Executive Committee., providing scientific leadership and guidance to the project. A nurse data collector will continue to assist the National Nurse Project Coordinator to expand the NSQIP methodology to other nonfederal hospitals participating in the project by serving on the Project Executive Committee, assisting with the training of the nurse data collectors at the other sites, sef'ling as contact person for questions horn staff at the other hospitals, and participating in the chart reviews to link quantitative assessments of quality to preventable adverse events.
