Abstract
This project was funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
The PI, Pedram Roghanchi, was a sub-awardee at New Mexico Tech. This project was approved
to be transferred to the University of Kentucky. The project scope is to develop a machine learning
based risk management system for mine accidents root-cause analysis. Our team will also focus
on design a new and innovative protocol for the use of drone technologies in mine operations to
improve mine safety.
