Research and Technological Innovations in Automation, Robotics, and Intelligent Mining Systems for Transformative Improvements in Workplace Safety, Health, and Efficiencies

Abstract This project was funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The PI, Pedram Roghanchi, was a sub-awardee at New Mexico Tech. This project was approved to be transferred to the University of Kentucky. The project scope is to develop a machine learning based risk management system for mine accidents root-cause analysis. Our team will also focus on design a new and innovative protocol for the use of drone technologies in mine operations to improve mine safety.
