Residual: A Randomized Trial of Outpatient Oxygen Weaning Strategies in Premature Infants

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The Kentucky site will enroll 25 patients yearly with lung disease of prematurity who require HOT and are referred to NICU graduate BPD specialty care or pediatric pulmonary follow-up. We have extensive experience with this patient population and have agreed to support this work. Baseline growth assessments and parent interviews will be conducted at enrollment, with PedsQL assessments and growth assessments at monthly clinic visits until discontinuation of home oxygen and then at 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months post discontinuation. Medical records will be reviewed, beginning at enrollment and extending through the 6-month follow-up period. We will provide medical chart documentation (securely to protect patient confidentiality) for data extraction.
