REU Supplement: GOALI: Nanoscale Printing and Machining Using Electron Beams in Liquids

We propose a REU supplement to NSF award CMMI-1125998 entitled "GOALI: Nanoscale Printing and Machining using Electron Beams in Liquids." The proposed REU supplement enhances the intellectual merit of the current award by utilizing the talents of two undergraduate researchers to accelerate our work on electron-beam based materials processing in liquids. In addition, the REU supplement will enhance the broader impact of the work by exposing two especially promising undergraduats, one of whom is an African-American female student, to interdisciplinary manufacturing research. This represents a step toward building a better trained workforce for the emerging field of nano-manufacturing.
