REU Supplement: Modeling and Simulation of Aircraft MVDC Propulsion Drive System

Objective: Conduct the modeling and simulation of medium-voltage DC (MVDC) propulsion drive systems of electric aircraft, and integrate such MVDC systems with the recently developed model of a new dc circuit breaker, the research of which is being sponsored by a 2019 SCEEE Research Initiation Grant. If this proposal is funded, a senior undergraduate student in electrical engineering at the University of Kentucky will be selected and trained for this research under the supervision of the principal investigator (PI).
