Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The Highway Safety Improvement Program was authorized as a new Federal-aid funding program beginning in FY 2006, with the objective of achieving a significant reduction in traffic fatalities and serious injuries on all public roads. Each state is required to develop, implement, and evaluate on an annual basis a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). A wide range of technical expertise is required in order to support the activities associated with management of a HSIP. The objective of the project is to provide technical support to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Division of Traffic Operations for implementation and evaluation of the Highway Safety Improvement Program.
