RSF 52, CVISN Project Evaluation and Performance Measures

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

One of the FY 2014 national priorities for the CVISN program is to implement CVISN safety and productivity performance measures. Such a project supports the reporting of FMCSA-defined CVISN performance metrics. Kentucky has several automated ramp screening systems at weigh stations and Virtual Weigh Stations deployed around the state, and a centralized observation database from which large amounts of commercial vehicle screening observations can be pulled and developed into metrics based on the criteria defined in the FY 2014 national funding priorities. The metrics developed will help CVISN officials in Kentucky and at the federal level to better understand the value of automated screening and centralized screening observation data warehousing and sharing. The data will be used to measure the safety, efficiency, and financial impact of the state’s recent CVISN-related activity.
