Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The purpose of this project to further expand Kentucky’s Automated Truck Screening System (KATS). This project addresses the 2016 CVISN program national priorities of enhancing the CVIEW (#1), improving data uploads (#2), and the reporting of performance measures (#3). The KATS system helps to identify chameleon carriers and data quality issues. These issues are forwarded on to FMCSA to improve the quality of data in states’ CVIEWs as well as correct data upload problems. KATS features reporting capabilities that contribute to Kentucky’s ability to identify performance measures. The goals of this project are to increase the efficiency of the personnel working at the weigh stations and to increase the safety of the commercial vehicles operating on Kentucky highways.
