Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center’s Comprehensive Breast Care Center (UK CBCC) seeks to continue Mamm’s Day Out, a successful, quarterly Saturday program for breast cancer screening and education that serves the uninsured and under-insured populations of Fayette, Bourbon, Clark, Jessamine, Madison, Scott, and Woodford counties. This program serves women whose work schedules and other competing obligations prevent them from seeking breast screening during the work week. Participants will be identified and invited by the Markey screening coordinator, who will provide a program of education and awareness information on-site. Screening will be performed at the Whitney-Hendrickson Building on the UK campus by UK CBCC technicians and will be read and reported by UK CBCC radiologists. Administrative follow-up will be provided by the UK CBCC administrative staff in combination with Kentucky Cancer Link. Requests for transportation and other needs for support will be coordinated by the UK Markey Psych-oncology staff.
