Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The School Nurses to BARN (Bringing Action Right Now) Camp for the Mental Health and Wellness of Kentucky Youth is a three-part program to promote resilience, raise awareness, and advance self-confidence for 100 school nurses to effectively intervene with school aged youth (K1-K12) with behavioral and mental health concerns. Working closely with partners from the UK Center of Interprofessional Health Education (see CIHE LOS), UK College of Social Work (see CoSW LOS) suicide prevention and well-being experts to integrate a “Self-Care Lab curriculum” during the BARN Camps and apply QPR knowledge and skills training with the Actors Theatre of Louisville (see LAT LOS) virtual training sessions using objective structured clinical exams (OSCEs) actors, we will integrate the Give-Get Grid model to make a difference in mental health and wellness and help prevent suicide for K1-K12 kids.
