Description
The purpose of the Vaccine for Children Program in Kentucky is to increase immunization rates across
the Commonwealth. The Vaccines For Children (VFC) program is a federally funded program that
provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to
pay. The positions funded through this agreement are responsible for the interpretation of laws,
regulations, policies, and procedures for the VFC. They will be responsible for the planning and
implementation of an intensive program of surveillance and epidemiology, quality improvement,
Vaccine for Children (VFC) program for the state of Kentucky, adult vaccine program, emergency
response vaccine countermeasures, statewide immunization information system, and
education/information activities.
