Description
The University of Kentucky International Center proposes to host Fulbright Visiting Scholar
Enrichment Seminars., a benefit made available to Fulbright student grantees arriving in the U.S.
from a variety of countries. The orientation program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State,
Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), as part of its flagship Fulbright Program, and
designed by the Institute of International Education (IIE). UKIC hosted the fall 2014 and fall 2015
Fulbright Pakistan Seminar and has been experiences to serve as host for this seminar in March
2019. Enrichment seminars enhance the Fulbright experience of current Visiting Scholars and
further the overall mission of the Fulbright Program, which is to increase mutual understanding
between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Seminars should provide
opportunities to explore a proposed seminar topic in depth over the course of four days through a
range of speakers, discussions, site visits, and other activities. The Seminar Theme that UK will puck
is “Combatting Addiction”.
