Description

This agreement establishes staff to support the work required in the Infectious Disease Branch of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department for Public Health Division of Epidemiology and Health planning; positions to include a senior epidemiologist, two epidemiologists, an End the HIV Epidemic Coordinator, and four part time HIV/AIDS Regional Coordinators. The initial MOA is effective from JULY 1, 2020 through JUNE 30, 2020. These are key personnel positions funded by grants from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cooperative agreements with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The epidemiologist positions shall be required to collect, review analyze and report on incidence and prevalence of HIV/AIDS infection and HCV co-infection within the state as mandated by law, as a basis for planning, implementation and evaluation on prevention and control programs. The positions shall be responsible for interpretation of laws, regulations, policies and procedures for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) program and Viral Hepatitis program to ensure compliance with state and federal disease reporting requirements. The End the HIV Epidemic Coordinator and four part time HIV/AIDS Regional Coordinators are responsible for strategic planning with stakeholders that will result in a statewide plan to end HIV.
