Grants and Contracts Details

Description

The vendor will provide the services of its employees in the implementation of Statewide Alternate Assessment program for Kentucky known as the Alternate K-PREP. The program has two components: attainment tasks (performance events) which fulfills the requirements of all content area statewide accountability testing and the transition attainment record (skill checklists) which fulfills the requirements of the ACT. The components fulfill federal regulations related to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as well as Kentucky state law. The work of the vendor ensures that students with significant challenges will be represented in Kentucky’s assessment and accountability system and are included in federal reporting. The Alternate K-PREP provides multiple ways for the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team (including general and special education teachers, families, and students) to measure student performance, encourage student choice and decision-making, merge instructional and assessment activities and build support for meaningful participation in appropriate general education curriculum.
