Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The proposed project aims to modify a linguistics course (i.e., MCL 598/698 Topics In Linguistics), mainly targeting incoming UK students who attend the M.A. program in Teaching World Languages (MATWL) and seek teacher certification in Chinese. From the fall of 2018, it will begin to train Chinese language teachers and require the students to take three graduate level courses in Chinese linguistics and culture.
The objective of this project is three-fold: to offer a course that meet the need of pre-service Chinese language teachers, to attract students who are interested in Chinese linguistics and pedagogy, and to connect this course with other curricula of the University of Kentucky.
