The Supported Employment Training Project provides six 3core2 days of required training in supported employment fundamentals quarterly, along with one�]day follow�]up 3roundtable2 events for SCL/Michelle P. providers, plus a two�]day supported employment overview for SCL/Michelle P. administrators. At least two optional/advanced events will be offered such as Systematic Instruction, and Advanced Benefits Planning & Analysis. Other potential topics and on�]request events include supported employment workshops/presentations for employers, job seekers and family members. The primary audience for the workshops is supported employment personnel whose agencies are Supported Employment Vendors through the OVR or OFB. Other participants may include: OVR or OFB counselors, teachers, Community�]Based Work Transition Program student employment coordinators, and persons with disabilities and/or their family members. Technical assistance is provided on request to any of the parties listed above. Additionally, a new leadership series will be introduced involving eleven days of content, plus a practicum �]�] time devoted for translation and reflection of content studied in the life of a job seeker with a disability. In addition to learning about leading supported employment practices (e.g., discovery, customized employment, needs analysis, informational interviews), course participants will study two foundational frameworks central to decision making and implementation of quality supported employment: 1) Marc Gold's 3Try Another Way2 approach to systematic instruction, and 2) Wolf Wolfensberger's "Social Role Valorization (SRV) Theory."
