Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Salamanders are the best vertebrate models for studying limb regeneration. This project will enhance regeneration research efforts by sequencing the genome of the red spotted newt. This will be accomplished by isolating whole newt chromosomes and performing next generation sequencing. The resulting data will be analyzed and summarized in a manuscript that will be submitted for publication.
