Members of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment and Shiloh Baptist Church propose to create community gardens on the church property to 1) increase the accessibility of fresh produce to families in the east end of Lexington, increase the awareness of families in the east end of Lexington to the need for healthy food consumption, increase the capacity of families in the east end of Lexington to prepare fresh produce and increase the ability of families in the east end of Lexington to raise their own produce.
