Description
The proposed projects address nutrition education and obesity prevention needs of the limitedresource
target populations through direct education, indirect intervention channels, and advocacy
for policy, systems and environment (PSE) changes to improve nutrition and physical activity
practices. The University of Kentuckyfs Nutrition Education Program will apply the social ecological
framework for nutrition and physical activity decisions to address nutrition and physical activity at
all levels of the model .individual, environmental, sectors of influence, and social and cultural
norms and values. Consistent evaluation will provide data for curricula improvement, staff training,
and field implementation of the proposed projects. The second year of the 2019-2020 plan includes
three projects: Adults and Families, Youth, and Food Systems with delivery in all 120 Kentucky
counties.
