Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The proposed projects address nutrition education and obesity prevention needs of the limited-resource target populations through direct education, indirect intervention channels, and advocacy for policy, systems and environment (PSE) changes to improve nutrition and physical activity practices. The University of Kentucky’s Nutrition Education Program will apply the social ecological framework for nutrition and physical activity decisions to address nutrition and physical activity at all levels of the model –individual, environmental, sectors of influence, and social and cultural norms and values. Consistent evaluation will provide data for curricula improvement, staff training, and field implementation of the proposed projects. The plan includes three projects: Adults and Families, Youth, and Food Systems with delivery in all 120 Kentucky counties.
