Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Teams (START) Program

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

In partnership with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS), the College of Social Work Training Resource Center (TRC) will implement and evaluate the Sobriety Treatment and Recovery Teams (START) program. This project establishes formal regional partnerships at each START site and includes collaborative agreements with various state, regional and local entities. The program utilizes an innovative peer support model to mitigate barriers to treatment and services, thereby increasing positive outcomes for both parents and children participating in the program. The program integrates best practices in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services, child welfare practice, family preservation services, and trauma-informed behavioral health services to implement a comprehensive approach to service delivery for families affected by SUD and involved with the child welfare system.
