Scope of work (University of Kentucky): Management of Dectes stem borer in Kentucky's Soybeans The University of Kentucky will participate in Research objectives 4.2 Evaluate the seasonal occurrence of dectes stem borer in soybean May 2019-September 2021. Collect data on population fluctuations of Dectes to establish predictive degree day models Insecticide.management of dectes stem borer in soybeans May 2019-September 2021. Small plot suited to evaluate the efficacy of different type of insect tests will be conducted at the Research and Education Center of the University of Kentucky in Princeton. Use of sunflower as trap crop to manage Dectes stem borer in soybean May 2019. September 2021. Collaborating with soybean farmers, studies will be conducted to evaluate the potential of using sunflower as trap crop of Dectes stem borers and reduce their establishment on soybean fields.
