Spacecraft Design On-Line Course Development

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Spacecraft Design On-Line Course Development Dr. Bob Twiggs has offered a successful Spacecraft Design course through Stanford and the University of Idaho to disseminate his accumulated store of knowledge on spacecraft design, testing and operation. We propose to capture, catalog and distribute his course in an on-line format for distribution as a product of Kentucky Space. The goals ofthe on-line course are: 1. Train cohorts of Kentucky Space students, 2. Engage younger students in the K-12 pipeline to consider STEM disciplines, 3. Develop an educational product beneficial to all Space Grant programs utilizing the expertise of Dr. Twiggs and the Kentucky Space faculty. The following outline identifies the steps necessary to convert the existing course materials into a more formal structure. Once the initial review and coordination efforts are accomplished, much of the work will proceed in parallel in order to bring all of the pieces together in time for a Fall 2010 release.
