Brief Project Description (100 words or less): This project will increase demand for Kentucky fruits, vegetables, nuts, and
herbs by teaching consumers how to purchase and use Kentucky Proud foods. The Plate it Up Kentucky Proud project
links the expertise of University of Kentucky faculty with nutrition students, Extension agents, and producers to market
Kentucky specialty crops. We will maintain a consumer focus for this grant period. The project will develop, disseminate,
and demonstrate new recipes featuring local seasonal specialty crops to market Kentucky foods part of a healthy lifestyle.
