Grants and Contracts Details
Description
This project will increase demand for Kentucky fruits, vegetables, nuts, and herbs by increasing child and adult nutrition
knowledge and consumption of specialty crops. The Plate it Up Kentucky Proud project links the expertise of University
of Kentucky faculty with nutrition students, Extension agents, and producers to market Kentucky specialty crops. We
will maintain a consumer focus for this grant period and expand to pilot a producer implementation plan for recipe card
dissemination. The project will develop, disseminate, and demonstrate new recipes featuring local seasonal specialty
crops to market Kentucky foods part of a healthy lifestyle.
