Grants and Contracts Details
Description
Growers across Kentucky are looking for high-value specialty crops to help diversify their farming enterprises.
Rhubarb (Rheum x cultorum) can provide additional income particularly early in the season and because it is a perennial
crop, the growers' investment beyond the initial year of establishment will be limited with potential income from a good
location for 15 years or more. Kentucky has not had a replicated trial for many years and we have had to rely on other
states for production recommendations. This will enable us to confirm or refine our recommendations.
