Grants and Contracts Details
Description
The objective of this research is to facilitate the process used by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) employees to integrate crash data into existing safety-related selection criteria and decision-making. This research will produce modularized plug-ins for Excel and ArcMap to allow users to obtain crash counts, rates, and expected crashes for any state-maintained roadway section and for a variety of predefined criteria (roadway departure, nighttime crashes, etc.). This effort will be coordinated with KYTC’s IT department, and could potentially be integrated with TED (Transportation Enterprise Database) to provide the most up-to-date data.
