Description
Slip lining a culvert is a cost effective way of remediating a currently deficient facility by inserting a smaller diameter solid wall HDPE pipe into a larger diameter pipe. Slip Lining has been used in Kentucky but to KTC’s knowledge the structural and hydraulic designs were performed by consultants outside Kentucky.
This research project will look at current slip lining standard practices across the country and develop a guidance manual to be used by the KYTC and consultants in Kentucky for the repair or maintenance of pipe culverts in Kentucky.
