Description
Objectives: This study will survey a selection of KYTC structures to determine the severity of any differential bridge end settlement that occurred. These bridges will be analyzed and evaluated to develop a model predicting bridge end settlement based on project characteristics. The project will also review practices of various STA’s and KYTC districts to evaluate various solutions that have been attempted and gauge their success to compile as a list of best practices. It is believed that given project characteristics a specific best practice could be selected to minimize differential bridge end settlement.
