SPR 15-496: Utilization of LiDAR for QC/QA of Pavement Grade for Resurfacing

  • Rister, Bradley (PI)

Grants and Contracts Details

Description

During routine resurfacing projects evaluations of longitudinal grade and cross-slope are not routinely made. In some instances after multiple resurfacing operations have taken place, the grades may no longer be within normal specifications. This project proposes to utilize mobile LiDAR technology and technology which may be available with the Cabinets Pavement Management Survey vehicle to collect surface profiles both before and after resurfacing projects. Surveys taken before the resurfacing can be utilized to identify potential areas where additional remedial action may be necessary to improve the surface grade, post resurfacing surveys will be used to insure proper final grades are achieved.
