Description
KTC has reviewed preventive maintenance activities for bridges for several state DOTs and is developing recommendations for a KYTC Preventive Maintenance Program. KYTC has initiated a preventive maintenance program with a limited scope of activities. KTC reviewed Special Notes for the preventive maintenance activities and recommended modifications. Monitoring of activities by KTC was included in the Bridge Cleaning contract let to contract in April 2012. The contractor has not begun work as of May 22, 2012.
KYSPR 11-424 was approved through June 15, 2012 with a final report due at that time. The Study Advisory Committee requested, as an adjustment to the work plan, KTC to review and comment on Special Notes and to monitor field activities of bridge preventive maintenance projects.
KYSPR 11-424 is funded through June 30, 2012 to allow for completion of the field activities and monitoring..
