Grants and Contracts Details

Description

Proactively assist in the implementation of research recommendations from recently completed studies as well as re-emphasizing suggestions from past research studies. Frequently research suggestions and recommendations fail to get implemented because of constraints in time, funding or just a lack of initiative to get the details worked and changes made to processes or projects. Some of these reports may have been completed several years ago, but the recommendations were never adopted. In most cases the conclusions of the studies are still valid. This work will assist in jump starting the implementation process to ensure that research recommendations are deployed in a timely and effective manner. As appropriate for implementation, research studies (past and current) will be assessed to determine if suggested recommendations will be implemented. An implementation plan will be prepared by the Study Advisory Committee and approved by the State Highway Engineer. Selected elements of the Implementation Plan may be funded through this “project” as a means to accelerate the actual deployment of recommendations, which may include training, specification revisions, and project monitoring.
