"Study A: The purpose of this mixed methods study is to examine the barriers and motivations
to reproductive healthcare utilization for Black queer women. In Phase 1, n=200 participants will
complete an online survey. In Phase 2, n=25 women will be selected to participate in follow-up
interview. Interview protocols will be informed by the survey results. The results of this study will
inform my K01 application and Society for Family Planning grant.

Study B: The purpose of this mixed methods study is to examine the effects of early
hysterectomies on Black women’s sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, and emotional
and mental health. In Phase 1, n=25 women will participate in an interview or focus group. In
Phase 2, n=200 Black women will participate in an online survey. Survey questions will be
informed by the interview results. The results of this study will serve as pilot data for my Patty
Brisben Foundation grant."
